THE ITINERARY
Fiji's picturesque Mamanuca Islands are dotted throughout sparkling waters just off the coast from Denarau. They are generally tiny in size, but outstanding in beauty and are true treasures of the South Pacific. The Mamanuca Islands are world-renowned, not just for their beauty, but also for their huge array of activities on offer including snorkelling, diving, kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing… the list goes on! Most of the islands have resorts on them, adding cocktails, delicious dining, sun-loungers, hammocks and alluring swimming pools into the mix. The Mamanuca Islands of Fiji are a volcanic archipelago lying to the west of Nadi and to the south of the Yasawa Islands. The group, a popular tourist destination, consists of about 20 islands, but about seven of these are covered by the Pacific Ocean at high tide. The islands offer crystal clear waters, palm fringed sandy beaches and live coral reefs. One of the islands, Monuriki, was made famous as the anonymous island that featured in the film, Cast Away, starring Tom Hanks. Cruise just a little further north from the Mamanuca's and you'll come face to face with the majestic, awe-inspiring Yasawa Islands. These islands form what is arguably some of the world's most spectacular island landscapes. Their volcanic rocky peaks give them a demanding presence, softened by the unspoiled golden sandy beaches and crystal-clear lagoons. The Yasawa group consists of six main islands and numerous smaller islets. The archipelago, which stretches in a north-easterly direction for more than 80 kilometers from a point 40 kilometers north-west of Lautoka, is volcanic in origin and very mountainous, with peaks ranging from 250 to 600 meters in height. The British navigator William Bligh was the first European to sight the Yasawas in 1789, following the mutiny on the Bounty. Captain Barber in the HMS Arthur visited the islands in 1794, but they were not charted until 1840, when they were surveyed and charted by a United States expedition commanded by Charles Wilkes. Throughout the 1800s, Tongan raiders bartered for, and sometimes stole, the sail mats for which the Yasawa was famous for. The islands were largely ignored by the wider world until World War II, when the United States military used them as communications outposts. Now days the Yasawas are ready for you to enjoy and relax Day 1; Nadi Bay - Malolo Lailai (13nm) Arrive at Nadi International Airport, just a short car ride to Naisoso Marina where you’ll board the tender to make your way to the vessel anchored in Nadi bay. Depart for Malolo Lailai, an approximate 13nm trip. Once at Malolo Lailai, you’ll have a lovely protected lagoon to make use of all of your water sports toys. From here, just a short distance from the anchorage, you can access deep water if you want to try your luck at some game fishing. Also nearby, is the famous Cloud Break and several other world class waves, so if you’re keen on surfing this is the best place to do that. If you fancy an island cocktail and bite to eat you can visit Cloud Nine or Seventh Heaven, two floating bar/restaurants also closely situated to Malolo Lailai. There is a small sand bank near the anchorage that comes out at low tide, take some bread and scatter pieces along the surrounding reef , enjoy watching the colorful reef fish come to the surface to take a nibble. Spend the night in the protected waters of the lagoon, head ashore to Musket Cove Island bar for a sundowner before heading back to the yacht for dinner. Day 2; Malolo Lailai In the morning, head out for an early morning surf, try your luck fishing or take a hike to the top of Malolo island. MEET THE CREW
Our Crew: A Family at Sea
When you step aboard Che, you’re not just stepping onto a yacht; you’re joining a family. Our crew is a tight-knit group led by Captain Warren East and his wife, Chef Elizabeth Lee. Alongside them, their daughter Alea and her partner Santiago form the next generation of seafarers. First mate Gary, a lifelong friend of over 25 years, and engineer Marius, who’s become part of the family over the last three years, complete the circle.
We take great pride in operating as a family-oriented team. Everyone on board, from the captain to the deckhand, is part of a warm, supportive, and welcoming environment. When guests join us, they’re not just clients—they become part of this extended seafaring family. We look out for one another, share stories, and create a home-like atmosphere no matter where we sail.
This sense of camaraderie is one of the most cherished aspects of life on Che. It’s something our guests and the yacht’s owner deeply appreciate, knowing that when they come aboard, they’re welcomed into a true family at sea.
